historY

At the dawn of the 1990s, business leaders from the chemical sector came together to launch a sectoral association to create a force and represent the interests of the companies in the sector.

Among the founders of the ADICQ, Mr. Florian Bonnier, chemist, was the first president of the ADICQ. Robert Briscoe, Jacques Pichet, Rolf Maurer and Jean Boisvert held the first directorships. Messrs. Robert Doyon, Richard Masson, Jacques Rochon and Raymonde Ouellette also took part in setting up the ADICQ.

In 1992, the letters patent were filed with the Registraire des entreprises du Québec. Subsequently, many entrepreneurs contributed to the success of the ADICQ, including Mr. Pierre Plante, who was president of the association for 15 years. These visionary volunteers were able to inspire the sector, which helped to make it stronger.

The ADICQ is proud to celebrate its 25th anniversary and to be more active than ever for its members. Even today, tighter regulations, globalization and changing technologies are putting a lot of pressure on businesses. The supporting role of the ADICQ is still relevant!
